NW High School Athletic Association

Jr Boys 1A Boys Volleyball Districts were held in Pierceland on Saturday with 5 schools competing at the event (Pierceland, Maidstone, Paradise Hill, Goodsoil and Île-à-la-Crosse). All teams competed hard and rallied even harder as evident by the number of close games, 3rd sets, and how far behind schedule had gotten at times.

Pierceland and Paradise Hill, in the battle of the Panthers, played a hard fought semi final in which Paradise Hill won 25-22 and 25-20.

In the final Paradise Hill would go on to meet the round robin winners Maidstone Huskies. Paradise Hill would be the only team t take a set off of Maidstone during that round robin, with hopes of taking more in the final. Paradise Hill came out strong in set 1 going up 9-3 with some stellar serving. After a timeout by Maidstone they battled back taking set 1 25-18.

The second set saw Maidstone dominate at the net hitting balls down and eventually securing the gold medal with a 25-20 victory!

Congratulations to this year’s District winners the Maidstone Huskies! Congratulations also to the silver medallist Paradise Hill Panthers.
