NW High School Athletic Association

This past weekend St. Walburg Curling Rink played host to the 2018 Junior Curling NWHSAA Championships.  The tournament featured two St. Walburg teams, Maidstone, Marshall, Jonas Samson, Loon Lake, Bishop Lloyd and Holy Rosary. The event featured high quality competitive curling with many matches being decided in the final ends. The sportsmanship in the championship was very curling like.

In the Gold medal match both St. Walburg teams would meet to battle in a close 6-5 finish with a final shot by grade 8 skip Adam Jetzke to secure the win in an extra end. The game went back and forth having the crowd wondering who will win. In the Silver Game we saw St. Walburg defeat Maidstone 6-3 to become silver medalists.
