NW High School Athletic Association

The SHSAA Regional Basketball Championships were held on Friday March 18th and Saturday March 19th. NWHSAA had teams representing the following categories:

1A Girls - no representation

2A Girls - no representation

3A Girls - St. Walburg (hosted in St. Walburg)
-The Saints went in as the #3 seed in the 3A Girls category. As a result, they would host 14th seed Dalmeny on Friday March 18th. The girls defeated Dalmeny 80-36. This setup a regional championship match with the 6th seed Lanigan or 11th seed Briercrest Christian Academy. St. Walburg would face the Lanigan and defeat them 76-50 to advance to the 3A Girls Hoopla Championship.

4A Girls - Meadow Lake Carpenter (hosted in Meadow Lake)
-The Spartans went in as the #3 seed in the 4A Girls category. As a result, they would host 14th seed Nipawin on Friday March 18th. The girls defeated Nipawin 93-10. This setup a regional championship match with the 6th seed Moose Jaw Vanier or 11th seed Humboldt. Meadow Lake Carpenter would face Moose Jaw Vanier and defeat them 62-54 to advance to the 4A Girls Hoopla Championship.

5A Girls - Lloydminster Comprehensive (hosted in Swift Current)
-The Barons went in as the #9 seed in the 5A Girls category. As a result, they faced the #8 seed from Weyburn and fell 75-46 on Friday March 18th. The girls would play a consolation game against #5 seed from Warman and lost that game 67-51.
