The Spartan Wrestling Team of Carpenter High School showed its biggest success rate this year.   Throughout the year the individual wrestlers improved with every tournament they went to.  By the end of the season, all wrestlers were performing at their best.

Both the Spartan Boys' and Girls' Wrestling Teams won the 3A School Team Championship at the Regional Wrestling Tournament in Moose Jaw this season.  This is the first time in Carpenter High School history.  All team members contributed to this success from their hard work through this season.  As long as team members placed in the top 6, they contributed to team points.  The regional tournament is also the tournament to qualify to go to provincials.  Of the 14 Spartan team members sent, eight wrestlers qualified to go to the provincial tournament.

For 15 years Carpenter High School has been sending wrestlers to provincials.  In that time the Spartans have earned one bronze medal. This year was a great season for the team.  They had four of the eight wrestlers place top four in the province.  Dolly Senger achieved her personal best and finished in 4th place in the province.  Savanna and Skyla Russell brought home twin bronze medals.  Finally, the heavyweight champion of Saskatchewan, Jacob Ambroziak earned the first gold medal in Wrestling for Carpenter High School.  This is a huge accomplishment for the school
